Alice (Breedlove) Thompson

Margaret Alice Breedlove Thompson, 74, of Shellman, GA passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the Dawson Manor Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in the Eastview Cemetery in Shellman with Rev. Bruce Pittman and Rev. Danny Craft officiating.

Mrs. Thompson was born on November 29, 1942 in Dawson the daughter of the late Alton and Ilene Whitman Breedlove. She was a loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed being active in many community organizations.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband during his in-state and Washington D.C. trips with Georgia Farm Bureau.  You would often see Mr. Jimmy and “Miss” Alice at the American Legion, the Antique Tractor Club, Pathfinders, Happy Hearts, and Sunshine Seniors just to name a few.  She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC).  She enjoyed her time as the pianist of New Bethel Church in Terrell County.  She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness as she was always thinking of others.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Shellman.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jimmy Thompson; son, Jim (Millicent) Thompson of Watkinsville, GA and daughter Joy (Chris) Hasty of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren: Jarrett Lanier Thompson, William Reed Hasty, and Katelyn Joy Hasty.  She is also survived by her sister, Genelle Jennings of Hawkinsville, GA and brother, Al Breedlove of Dawson, GA. 

The family wishes to express gratitude to those at Dawson Manor who cared for their wife and mother. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the Bethea Building of the First Baptist Church of Shellman.
