JOSEPH CLAXTON WILEY

Joseph Claxton Wiley, 86, of Edison, GA passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at his home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024, with military honors in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery near Edison with Rev. Daniel McFather officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 until funeral time in the cemetery.

Mr. Wiley was born on January 15, 1938, in Early County, Georgia the son of the late William Joseph “WJ” Wiley and the late Ruby Faye Lane. He was a retired US Coast Guard Veteran after serving over 21 years and then from the Calhoun County School System. He was a graduate of the Damascus High School and was a member of the Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Early County. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patsy Wiley Stallings and a great granddaughter, Haley Duke.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Jane Rogers Wiley of Edison, 2 daughters, Faye (Tommy) Wiley Richey of Edison and Ann Wiley of Orlando, FL, 2 grandsons, Joey (Diana) Richey and Greg (Julie) Richey and 2 great granddaughters, Abigail Richey and Ashleigh Richey.
