George Chandler Lynch, Jr.

George Chandler Lynch, Jr., 64, of Lumpkin passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery near Lumpkin with Rev. Wayne Williams and Rev. Gene Boyd officiating.

Junior was born on September 22, 1953 in Cuthbert the son of the late George Chandler Lynch, Sr. and Carolyn Turner Lynch. He was the owner and operator of Lynch’s General Store. Junior was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. Junior admired Pastor Bill Purvis and loved his church, Cascade Hills in Columbus, GA. He was a dedicated member of Masons, following in the footsteps of his father, George Lynch, Sr. He loved hunting for antiques. Junior also loved and enjoyed his family. He was very proud of his family’s heritage and being a member of the Lumpkin community.

Survivors include his wife; Reda Bristow Lynch of Lumpkin, his mother; Carolyn T. Lynch of Lumpkin, a daughter; Velvet Lynch (Rick) Scoggins of Richland, a son; George “Chad” Chandler (Mitzi) Lynch III of Louvale, a step daughter; Alisa (Eric) Manibusan of Columbus, a sister; Joanne Lynch (Merrill) Geeslin of Columbus, 6 grandchildren; Gracie Scoggins, Hannah Scoggins, Billy Scoggins, Bryce Davis, Brayden Davis and Chase Long, 3 great grandchildren; Jordan Long, Jaxson Long and Drake Long and a nephew; Seth Geeslin.

Memorials may be made to the County Line Cemetery Fund in care of Winston Morrison at 3539 County Line Rd. Lumpkin, GA. 31815 or to the Cascade Hills Church at 727 54th St. Columbus, GA. 31904. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
