Lenora Wilson Thompson, 85 of Cuthbert passed away on Monday December, 3, 2018 in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the Cuthbert First Baptist Church with Rev. Ben McFather officiating.
Mrs. Thompson was born on November 13, 1933 in Cuthbert and was the daughter of the late Clark and Ida Arline Searcy Wilson. She was an active prayer warrior and intercessor for her family and a large circle of friends. She was a Chaplain for the North American Mission Board, member of Azalea Garden Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church choir for many years. She was the past customer service representative for Patterson Hospital and head of volunteer services. She taught Sunday school at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home and was a retired teachers aid for Randolph County School System. She worked with her three daughters at the Magnolia & Ivy Tea Rooms serving tea and teaching at the training conferences for many years. She was a volunteer teacher and coordinator at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years teaching Sunday school, teaching GA’s, singing in the choir and serving in many other capacities thru the years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Earl Thompson.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Kay T. (Bob) Snipes of Cuthbert, Teresa T. (Manuel) Martinez of Freeport, FL and Gina T. (Jamie) Folds of Cuthbert, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
