Carl Espy Childs, 83, of Ft. Gaines, GA passed away at his residence on Monday December 30, 2024. Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday Jan. 4, 2025 in New Park Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Spicer officiating.

Carl was born on August 15, 1941, in Birmingham, AL the son of the late Carl Espy Childs, Sr. and the late Gene Chambers Childs. After graduating from Ft. Gaines High School, he attended Marion Military College, Georgia Tech University and received his master's from Florida International University. He was the retired manager for Bell South Telephone Co. and was a member of the Ft. Gaines Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ted Stutts.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Sanders Childs of Ft. Gaines, 2 daughters, Lisa (Bill) Flournoy of Ft. Gaines and Teri (Joe) Starr of Sebring, FL, 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Owoc, Alec Sassin and Tyler Sassin and a great grandson Enzo Owoc.
