Carol Avera Cochran, 82, of Edison, GA passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in the Calhoun County Nursing Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. David Crowdis officiating and Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cochran was born on April 8, 1941, in Cuthbert, GA the daughter of the late William Henry and Christine Sammons Avera, Sr. She was a retired self-employed beautician and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Randolph County. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry Avera, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Ernie (Jeanine) Peavy of Omaha, 3 sisters, Jane Clark of Eufaula, Al, Geraldine (John) McGriff of Edison and Linda Clements of Edison, sister-in-law, Sandy Avera of Edison, grandson, Brandon (Allison) Peavy of Omaha and great granddaughter, Hannah Faith Peavy of Omaha.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
