CHARLES EUSTACE DEESE, JR.

Charles Eustace Deese, Jr. passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at his family home in

Shellman, GA. He was born on September 29, 1932 to Charles Eustace and Jewel (Cheney) Deese in Pensacola, FL. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School and earned a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Mississippi College. While in college, he met his beloved wife of 71 years, Jo.

Charlie retired as owner and operator of Deese & Son Construction. After moving to Shellman in 1991, he and Jo became members of Shellman First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 4 years in addition to their long-standing involvement in the church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Charles Van Deese, and his grandson, Van Parker Deese.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann (Cotton) Deese and his daughter, Suzanne Deese Williams, who both cared for him in his last year of illness after a lifetime of great health and blessings.

His 6 grandchildren, Daniel (Whitney) Cook, Sarah Suzanne Cook, Bailee Joanne (Autumn) Copeland, Eli (Elizabeth) Deese, Tanner (Taylor) Deese, and Elyse Michael McKenna will always consider themselves fortunate to be able to have shared memories with his 7 greatgrandchildren, Landon Cook, Dax Cook, Violet Copeland, Macey Deese, Olivia Deese, Jaxon Deese, and Emerson Gates.
