CHUCK LASHLEY

Charles “Chuck” Donnal Lashley, age 85, of Cuthbert, Georgia, passed away on May 11, 2026. Born on February 27, 1941, in Ironton, Missouri, he was the son of the late John and Mae Lashley.

A man of deep faith and community spirit, Chuck served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert, taught Royal Ambassadors, and participated in Speeders as well as Happy Hearts. He was a cornerstone of the local Lions Club, recently receiving his 50-year pin in honor of a half-century of service. During his many years as President, he was famously "the man in charge" of the kitchen; his wonderful cooking skills turned every meeting into a meal that the entire club looked forward to. He found his greatest joy in the active company of his grandchildren as well as the outdoors, whether hunting or fishing, or helping Joan in the yard.

He was a graduate of Ironton High School and proudly served in the US Air Force receiving a honorable discharge after 4 years’ service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Charles Lashley, Jr.

Chuck’s legacy of kindness and strength lives on through his beloved wife, Joan King Lashley; his son, Phil Lashley and wife Cyndi Anderson; and his six grandchildren: Kira Coates and husband Herb, Alena Lashley (Caroline), Moyra Lashley, Celeste Benes and husband Joe, Alex Anderson-Kenny, and Randy Evans and husband Conner and 2 brothers, Frank (Emma) Lashley and Richard (Pat) Lashley. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Lyndon Lashley, Zoe Lashley, Lucy Coates, Jack Coates, and Baker Benes

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Cuthbert First Baptist Church with Steve Whatley and Rev. Nathan Ziglar officiating. Interment will follow in the Colomokee Church Cemetery at 4:00 PM Colomokee Church Rd Blakely, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until funeral time in the church.
