Claire Sherrer Phillips, 88, of Pachitla, Ga. passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 in Phoebe North Hospital in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in East View Cemetery in Shellman with Rev. Olin Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Phillips was born on August 3, 1926 in Terrell County the daughter of the late Homer Clayton and Myrtle Bell Sherrer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Obediah (J. O.) Phillips, Jr., a son Mark Sherrer Phillips, a daughter, Janis Phillips Varnadoe and  a sister, Betty Sue Schramm. Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Graves High School and attended Georgia Southwestern College. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shellman and the Love Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Phillips Human of Albany, her sister, Ann S. Thompson of Shellman and 2 Grandchildren, Mark Lee Varnadoe and Julie Sherrer Varnadoe.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers. a donation be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Sherry Phillips Human at 2303 Golf Course Drive, Albany, Ga.
