Herman Curtis Hayes, 95, of Cuthbert passed away Thursday, December, 11, 2014 in the Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert. Graveside funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Dickey Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Calhoun County with Rev. Richard Hawks and Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.

Mr. Hayes was born June 6, 1919 in Calhoun Co. the son of the late Arthur and Della Gray Hayes. He was a retired furniture salesman, Deacon of the Cuthbert First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Geeslin-Sharley Chapter of the American Legion and a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irma Nolan Hayes  and a son Veron Hayes.

Survivors include a son, Greg Hayes of Cuthbert, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hayes of Omaha, Neb., 6 grandchildren, Stan Hayes, Shane Hayes, Steven Hayes, Patricia Reitz, Kelly Nielsen and Mary Beth Hayes, 12 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
