Curtis (Tootsie) Pearce, 94, of Cuthbert passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Lunsford Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Loyley officiating.
Mr. Pearce was born on March 15, 1922 in Clay Co. the son of the late John Bunyan and Clara Ragan Pearce. He was a World War II U. S. Army Veteran, a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Clay Co, and worked several years as an assistant manager of the Cuthbert Housing Authority. Before retiring, he served several years as a fireman for the City of Cuthbert. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Carlwin Pearce, Ragan Pearce and Jerry Pearce and 2 nephews; Phil Pearce and Benjie Pearce.
Survivors include 2 sisters; Bette Maynard and Beverly (Bill) Morrison, a sister-in-law; Annie Rae Pearce, 7 nieces; Monica (Charles) Andrews, Cindy (Richard) Lee, Jana Morrison, Kathy (Eddie) Martin, Julie (David) Lee, Elaine (Chuck) Troope and Joyce Lipari, 2 nephews; Jason Pearce and Danny Pearce and a large number of great nephews and nieces.
