Daniel Alpha McCook, Jr., 86, of Cuthbert, Ga. passed away Aug. 11, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted by the family at 11:00 AM Tuesday Aug. 14, 2018  at New Bethel  Baptist Church.

Dan was born on July 4, 1932 in Carnegie the son of the late Daniel Alpha McCook, Sr. and the late Annie Lee Edwards McCook Stewart. He retired from Coats and Clark before completing his career with Dawson Motor Co. in Cuthbert. He attended Darton College and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in the 2nd Armed Division, a member of the VFW and the American Legion Geeslin–Sharley Post 85 of Cuthbert.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nick Golden McCook of Cuthbert, a daughter, Terrie DePerro of Cuthbert, a son, Daniel "Danny" (Tara) McCook, III of Harrisville, MS. and 7 grandchildren, Daniel (Keena) McCook, IV, Rick Hunter, Ashley Varnum, Susan (C J) Greene, Nickey (Phillip) McCook, Dana McCook and Danny Harrell.
