DEWEY TURNER

Dewey Walton Turner, 82, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Cuthbert Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Reeves officiating.

Dewey was born on September 11, 1943, in Albany, GA the son of the late Thomas Isom Turner and the late Evelyn White Turner. He retired after 43 years of service with Pataula EMC and Cobb EMC. He was a United States Army Veteran and also served in the Air National Guard in Warner Robbins. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church, graduate of Cuthbert High School and taught for 15 years at South Georgia Technical College and upon retirement in December 2025 Dewey’s Classroom was established in his honor. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Oliver and Roy Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Paul Turner of Cuthbert, son, Keith (Edwina) Turner of Cuthbert, daughter, Wendy (Marshall) Lamb of Shellman, 5 grandchildren, Paul (Elizabeth) Turner, Carrie (Michael) Bachoffer, AJ (Breena) Turner, Blake (Laiken) Lamb and Madison (Brett) Sauls and 2 great grandchildren, Maelynn and Greyson Bachoffer.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
