Warner Robbins, Ga. Doris Jackson McLeod, Age 89, passed away October 25, 2015 in the home of her daughter, Robin Thomas.

Doris was born March 8, 1926 in Ashville, NC to the late Robert P. Jackson, and the late Lois Jackson Ingram. She was reared in Cuthbert, Ga. and was a graduate of Cuthbert High School. She married her sweetheart John (Jake) Sidney McLeod, Jr. in 1946 and made a home for her family in Shellman, Ga. First and foremost she was a loving wife and mother who was kind and generous to everyone. In addition to caring for her family she enjoyed gardening, tending to her rose garden and fishing.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jake, brothers Robert P Jackson (Mary), William C. Jackson, John B. Ingram, and sisters Elizabeth Jackson Mann, (Howard), Marjorie J. Rinn (Frank). Surviving siblings are sisters Sue Norsworthy (Walt), and Lois Goree (Raymond).

Her legacy lives in the hearts of her children, Patricia McLeod Walker (Nick) Aiken SC, Donna M. McLeod, Clearwater FL, Elizabeth Sue McLeod Shellman GA, John S. McLeod III (Peggy) Blakely GA, and Robin McLeod Thomas (Nathan) Warner Robbins, GA. Also 10 grandchildren; Nicholas Walker, Robert Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Heather Gibbs, Jennifer Medley, Erin Pinkston, Tessa Culpepper, Renee Thompson, Adam Thomas, and John Thomas. In addition there are 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the Lunsford Funeral Home Cuthbert GA on Wednesday October 28, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Graveside services will be at the Shellman Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 29. Reverend Olin Johnson will officiate.
