Obituary

Echo Patterson Puckett, 90, of Montgomery AL passed away at her home on  April 14, 2017. She taught Chemistry at Sidney Lanier High School and served as Assistant Administrator of Pupil Personnel with the Montgomery Public School System for 25 years. She also taught English and French in Cuthbert, GA. prior to moving to Montgomery. She graduated from Cuthbert High School and from the University of North Carolina.

Echo was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Emmett (Tug) Puckett, Jr; and son Samuel Alexander (Alec) Spoon, as well as her parents, Robert Alexander (Ec) Patterson and Ruth Sears Patterson.She was the granddaughter of the late Dr. Frederick Davis (Fred) Patterson, founder of Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert, Georgia.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rachel McCreary Spoon; grandsons, Currie Spoon (Annette)and Mitchell Spoon (Katie); and great-granddaughter, Theresa Spoon; as well as her cousins, Jim (Connie)Parrott of Fitzgerald and Ann Patterson Puckett Bynum of Shellman.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM  EST, 12:00 PM CST at New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines, GA. with her grandson, Rev. Currie Spoon officating. Pallbearers include: Mitchell Spoon, Bert McCreary, Gerry Goodman, Pat Puckett, Robert Goodman and Will Puckett.

Echo was a member of the Cuthbert United Methodist Church. The family ask that in Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cuthbert United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 449 Cuthbert GA 39840.
