Obituary

Ennis Lee Brooks, 100, died Monday Mar. 9, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living in Albany, Ga. Graveside services will be conducted 200 PM Tuesday Mar. 10, 2015 in Salem Baptist Cemetery near Edison, Ga. with the Rev. Olin Johnson and Rev. Keith Gaines officiating.

Mr. Brooks was born Sept. 14, 1914 in Edison the son of the late Robert Lee and Nelle Holloway Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a retired postmaster of Edison he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edison serving as a life time deacon and attended First Baptist Church of Shellman. He served in the United States Air Force serving in World War II, and retired from the Air force Reserve. He was a member of the American Legion and was a 70 year member of the Edison Lions Club. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his wives Edwina Arthur Brooks, the mother of his children and Martha Adams Curry.

Survivors include two daughters Kay Collins (David) of Duluth and Julie Prince (Wendall) of Albany. Three sons Jimmy Curry (Martha) and Charlie Curry (Lorraine) of Shellman, Shannon Curry of Albany; 10 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Edison First Baptist Church, Shellman First Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimers Assn, or the charity of your choice.
