Erma Jean Moore, 82, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the Cuthbert Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Ziglar officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Erma was born on March 16, 1943, in Groveland, Florida the daughter of the late Cecil Edgar Cureton (1909-1964) and the late Ella Mae Todd (1921-1945). In 1964, Erma married the love of her life, Andrew Laurens Moore and devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, dedicated mother and in later years, a cherished grandmother.
Throughout her life, Erma found great joy in gardening and listening to country music. Her greatest passion, however, was always her family, whom she loved deeply and supported in every way.
Erma had a wonderful sense of humor that she shared with her family, often quoting her favorite phrases:” Go play in traffic,” and “I hope your basement floods.” Her life was filled with happiness and laughter, making it difficult to find a photograph where she was not smiling brightly. Erma was dearly loved by everyone who knew her, and she returned that love to all-except, perhaps, to those who got in her way in her kitchen!
Erma is survived by her husband of 62 years, Andrew Laurens Moore; her three children, Shane, Sean, and Patrick; her five granddaughters, Nikki, Lilly, Terah, Mei, and Kendall; her grandson, Mason; and her sister, Cecil (Bobbie) Holmes. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Roxy Edith Nickelsen and Patricia Ann Cureton, as well as her brother, Charles Edwin Cureton.
