Evelyn Canington Peak

Evelyn Canington Peak, 105, of Cuthbert died Saturday July 16, 2016 at her residence. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday July 19, 2016 at the Cuthbert First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Crowdis and Rev. Peter Vermeulen officiating.

Mrs. Peak was born Nov. 3, 1910 in Springvale Ga. the daughter of the late Swift Macon and Lucy Banks Canington.  She was a Cuthbert high school graduate and attended Beauty school in Americus, Ga. when she was 16 years of age. She was a retired Beautician of over 80 years working up till she was 98 years of age. She was a member of the Cuthbert First Baptist Church since 1926.

Survivors include a daughter Lucy Wall of Cuthbert; two granddaughters Mary Shoemaker of Fortson, Ga. and Wendy Hartford of Roanoke VA.; and a great grandson Slaton Whatley of San Diego, CA.

The Family will receive friends at the church after the service.
