Obituary

Frances Williams Miller, 89, of Columbus, GA, formerly of Louvale, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the Columbus Hospice. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Louvale Church Row Cemetery with Rev. Robert Orr officiating.

Frances was born on September 23, 1934, in Stewart County, GA the daughter of the late Charlie Daniel Williams and the late Miriam Walton Williams. She was a graduate of Lumpkin High School, retired as a salesclerk for Lumpkin Drugs, a member of the Woodmen of the World and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Miller 2 sons, Ray and Randy Miller, a sister, Lucy Giles, and 3 brothers, Hal, Bobby and Johnny Williams.

Frances was a woman of unwavering faith, a cornerstone of her community. Her devotion to her beliefs shaped her life and touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church where she found immense joy in organizing community events and supporting the Louvale Church Row.

Family was at the center of Frances's world. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and extended family. She cooked every Sunday, and her family would fill her home and enjoy her cooking and company. Her family brought her endless happiness and pride.

Frances's circle of friends was vast and diverse, a testament to her warmth and kindness. She nurtured lifelong friendships with a rare grace and sincerity, always ready with a comforting word and a helping hand. She was a giver.

In addition to her dedication to faith, family and friends, Frances had a deep love of flowers and working in her yard. Her yard was a testament to her green thumb, a place of beauty that brought her tranquility that she shared generously with others.

Frances will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love for her family, faith and friendship will continue to inspire us and guide us.

Survivors include a daughter, Patty (Lennox) Escobar of Columbus, 2 daughters-in-law, Linda (Jeffery) Lynch and Dianne Miller, a sister, Betty Brooks of Lumpkin, a brother, Dan Williams of Richland, 10 grandchildren, Chad (Carmen) Lynch, Velvet Lynch (Rick) Scoggins, Colby Escobar, Trey Miller, Brandon (Jessica) Miller, Bethany (Mike) Miller, Brent (Mandy) Miller, Jesse (Angie) Miller, Carmen (Russ) Miller Henson, and Christian Escobar, and 10 great grandchildren, Braylyn Miller, Dalton Miller, Gracie Scoggins, Hannah Scoggins, Billy Scoggins, Bayla Henson, Graham Miller, Natalie Miller, Lyric Miller and Sophie Miller.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in care of Martha Jane Henson 501 Old Louvale Road Lumpkin, GA 31815.
