Ruby Grace Smith

Ruby Grace Smith, 97, of Carnegie passed on to her heavenly home early Sunday Aug. 26, 2018 at the Calhoun Nursing Home, Edison, GA. Her home going services will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday Aug. 29, 2018 at the Carnegie Baptist Church. A viewing and visitation will be 2:00 PM until services time, with the Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at the Carnegie Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 26, 1921 in Stephens Co. GA. the daughter of the late Robert and Elise Bruce. She was a member of the Carnegie Baptist Church and she was the last of 7 siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Smith "Preacher", and she served in all capacities in her church and community from 1954 until her health made her retire.

She leaves behind to both mourn and rejoice, 5 children., Roy D. "Don" Smith (Linda Ann) of Albany, GA., James Dale Smith (Terri) of Tampa, FL., Nancy Ellis Deloach of Toccoa, GA., Norman Daniel "Buster" Smith (Debra) of Carnegie, and the baby, who served her faithfully Marvin D. "Bo" Smith (Benita) of Carnegie, GA.

Amazing Grace also leaves 18 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren. Miss Grace also made room in her heart and home for at least two others, Lester "Mac" McNair of Edison, GA. and Lamar Cowart of Shellman, GA.
