Marvin Harris DeVane, Jr., 54, of Cuthbert, Ga. passed away Thursday Mar. 1 2018 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday Mar. 3, 2018 in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery with Steve Whatley officiating.

Mr. DeVane was born August 2, 1963 in Cuthbert, Ga. the son of Marvin Harris DeVane, Sr. and Dania DeVane. He was a high school graduate of Randolph Southern School in Shellman and a college graduate of ABAC in Tifton. He was a farmer, enjoyed racing, quail hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He drove a race car in the ARCA Series from 1993 until 1998. He won Rookie of the year in 1995 and won the Atlanta ARCA race in 1997.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years; Jennifer Jones DeVane of Cuthbert, a daughter; Jenna Washington (Joe Settles) of Cuthbert, a son; Loy DeVane of Cuthbert, his parents; Marvin and Dania DeVane of Cuthbert, 3 sisters; Yvonne DeVane of Cuthbert, Maria (Tim) Milliron of Cuthbert and Roxanne DeVane of Cuthbert, a brother; Andy DeVane of Cuthbert, 3 grandchildren; Chance Washington, Jerri Sue Washington and Chevy Washington, 3 nieces and a nephew.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2108 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Curry funeral home.
