TALLAHASSEE, FL

Helen Elizabeth Lamb Rytlewski, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, of natural causes in Tallahassee, Florida surrounded by her family. Helen was born August 11, 1933, in Shellman, GA. She attended grade school and high school there and graduated in 1949 while lettering four years in basketball. Helen attended Georgia Southwestern College earning a business degree. After college she moved to Atlanta and then to Albany, Georgia where she met and married Jerry Rytlewski February 20, 1954. They were married for 53 years until his death in 2007.

Helen was a devoted wife and loving mother who always put the needs of her family first. She worked for the Quaker Oaks Company, was a bookkeeper, and then a stay-at-home mother. Helen enjoyed going to the beach, crocheting, fishing, reading, playing bingo, and watching Hallmark movies. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Helen is survivored by her three children and their spouses, Julie and Steve Williamson of Canby, OR, Joni and William Brytan of Tallahassee, FL, and Jim and Suzanne Rytlewski of Tiger, GA; six grandchildren, Melissa and Kristi Dermosheghian, Jimmy and Gary Rytlewski, and Will and Emma Bryan; and three great grandchildren, Lucas, Ivy, and Adeline. Helen also has numerous nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Lamb and Emma Lula Whaley; and brothers, Bobby and Bo Lamb.

Many thanks to the caring and supportive staff of Westminster Oaks. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory should be given to either the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association .

The service will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in Shellman, GA at the United Methodist Church with the service beginning 1:00 pm. The burial follows at the East View Cemetery, 200 College Street Shellman, GA.
