Henry Franklin South, 76, Jacksonvill Beach, Florida died Friday, September 11, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center - Beaches, Jacksonvile Beach. Henry was a former resident of Cuthbert and Birmingham, Alabama.

Henry was born January 16, 1939 in Tarrant, Alabama son of Oscar Woodrow South and Ruth Childress South both deceased. He graduated from Cuthbert High School in 1957 and served in the US Army. He attended Georgia Tech and the University of Alabama - Birmingham. Henry was a retired civil engineer and a member of the Cuthbert United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Jordan Gardner, two step-sons, Uel Jordan (Patricia) Gardner of Casco, Maine and Mark Eric (Mandy) Gardner of South Lake Tahoe, California, a sister, Ann (Richard) Hales of Brook Park, Ohio, a brother, Glenn (Connie) South of Springville, Alabama. Henry was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Doris South.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Lunsford Funeral Home in Cuthbert with Rev. Olin Johnson officiating.
