James Hoyt Lumpkin, Sr. 80, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in The East View Cemetery in Cuthbert.

Mr. Lumpkin was born on May 2, 1937 in Cuthbert the son of the late Cecil Washington Lumpkin and the late Lora Lindsey. He was an Army Veteran, member of the Cuthbert First Baptist Church, attended South Georgia College in Douglas, Retired from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and also from the Randolph County Sheriff Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sons; John Lumpkin and James Hoyt Lumpkin, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter; Maureen Smith of Cuthbert, a daughter-in-law; Sandy Cooke Lumpkin of New York and 4 grandchildren; John Smith, Lindsey Smith Rathel, Jacob Lumpkin and Zach Lumpkin.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 2:45 at the funeral home.
