HUBERT RANDOLPH EVERSON, JR.

Hubert Randolph Everson, Jr., 63, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in the Willson Hospice House in Albany. Funeral services will be held at Cuthbert First Baptist Church on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM followed by interment at Salem Baptist Cemetery in Edison, GA. Rev. Nathan Ziglar, Steve Whatley, Rev. David Crowdis and Rev. Ben Crowdis will officiate.

Hugh was born on August 7, 1962, in Arlington, GA the son of the late Hubert Everson, Sr. and Barbara Everson Ferguson. He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School in Edison, GA where he enjoyed playing baseball for Coach Tommy Manry. He was a member of Cuthbert First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and led the Men’s Ministry. As a member of Cuthbert First Baptist Church, he was devoted to serving with the church Upward Program, Trunk or Treats, the playground, community missions and any needs the church had.

Hugh graduated from Albany Tech and began his career with Pataula EMC and moved on to Mediacom Cable. He found his niche, though, driving a gas truck for Whatley Oil for 38 years in Cuthbert, GA where he built strong relationships with the agriculture community all over Southwest Georgia and parts of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his father Hubert Everson, Sr. and stepfather, Robert Ferguson. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Ferguson, sisters, Gay (David) Crowdis and Sydney Everson, 3 nieces, Kendra (Justin) Bishop, Jenny (Shawn) Harris, Karly Chandler, 2 nephews, Jonathan (Laci) Crowdis and Ben (Kim) Crowdis and 11 great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cuthbert First Baptist Upward Program at P. O. Box 274 Cuthbert, GA 39840. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
