Dr. Samuel Jackson "Jack" Ward, 82, of Cuthbert passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Cuthbert First Baptist Church with interment to follow in East View Cemetery with Rev. Ben Crowdis officiating.

Dr. Jack was born on September 8, 1932 in Cuthbert the son of the late Samuel Vander and Virgie Mae Meadows Ward. He was retired from operating Ward Verterinary Clinic in Cuthbert after many years. He was a Deacon of the Cuthbert First Baptist Church, a member of AVMA, GVMA and he South Georgia VMA.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Nichols Ward of Cuthbert, 3 daughters, Deborah Kay Jackson of Shellman, Carol Deneise House of Cuthbert and Donna Lynn Callaway of Edison, 6 grandchildren, Tony House, Joanna J. Floyd, Erin H. Pate, Ward Jackson, Jack Callaway and Leah Callaway and 2 great grandchildren, Marley Jo Floyd and Beecher Floyd.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:30 at Lunsford Funeral Home.
