Jerry Mote, 77, of Americus, GA passed away suddenly from injuries received in an automobile accident. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Jerry was born on August 4, 1948, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late William A. "Bill" Mote and the late Lindie Phipps Mote of Dickey. He was the grandson of Wells Walker Mote and Minnie Howard Mote of Dickey and William Gustavius Phipps and Sarah Emma Mullins Phipps of Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 3 sisters, Betty Mote (Chuck) Britto of Shalimar, FL, Louise Mote (Charles) Porter of Edison, Dr. Sarah Helen "Pie" (Don) Mote Killgore of Decatur and 3 brothers, Dan (Bobbie Ashley) Mote of Dickey, Ben (Beulah Love) Mote of Dickey and Billy Waymon "Jack" (Anna Mae Williams) Mote of Cuthbert, nephews, David Killgore of Acworth and Jerry "Mutt" Mote of Edison and niece, Jean Ann Mote of Edison.

Jerry graduated from Calhoun County High School in Edison and Georgia Southwestern University in Americus with a degree in business and was retired from a career in finance. Jerry was a member since childhood of the Dickey Presbyterian Church in Dickey.

Survivors include the son, Bill Mote of Americus and his long-time love, Brenda Adcock of Albany.
