Jerry Dean Reed, 81, of Cuthbert died Sunday May 11, 2014 at his residence. Memorials services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.

Mr. Reed was born May 3, 1933  in Charleston, IL the son of the late Ralph Leroy and Anna Jeanette Farris Reed. He was retired from the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from the Cuthbert Fire Deparment and the Shellman Police Department. He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Blind Vets Association of Columbus, the Cuthbert American Legion and the VFW of Eufaula, AL.

Survivors include his wife, Delores (Dee) Reed of Cuthbert, 2 sons, Robert Reed of Cuthbert and Troy Reed of Trap Hill, NC, 4 grandchildren, Bridget, Troy, Jr., Dawn and Eugene and 2 great grandchildren Shelby and Kayla.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
