James Linwood "Jimmy" Martin, 83, of Shellman, GA passed away on Monday August 4, 2025, at his residence after a brief illness. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, in the Shellman Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Paul Buckheister officiating. The family will receive friends at Lunsford Funeral Home on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

Mr. Martin was born on April 14, 1942, in Randolph County, the son of the late James Millard Martin and the late Janie Rice Martin. A proud graduate of Shellman High School, Jimmy continued his education at South Georgia College and the University of Georgia.

Jimmy devoted his life to the land he loved spending most of his career in farming and agriculture sales. He was deeply respected for his stewardship of the land and care for the wildlife that shared it.

He was well known in the community for his greenhouse and workshop projects. Jimmy loved his summer garden, growing vegetables and beautiful zinnias that he enjoyed sharing with his neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife Sara Martin of Shellman, GA , his two daughters Lynn Martin Kerr (Warren) of Harvard, Massachusetts and Jenny Martin Logan (Brad) of Woodstock, GA and two stepchildren, Todd Martin of Savannah, GA ad Jan Martin Dowdy (Scot) of Valdosta, GA. Jimmy loved and enjoyed his five grandchildren: Kaleigh and Jilly Logan, and Cole, Drew, and Jack Dowdy.
