John Wayne Callaway, 65, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted at the New Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dwayne Greene officiating.

John was born on January 14, 1952 in Cuthbert the son of the late Wayne Hugh Callaway and the late Helaine Strickland Callaway. He was a retired rancher while living in Palestine, Texas and he then returned to Georgia. He attained a degree in Physical Education and Physical Therapy and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Cecelia Bentley Montfort and a step-mother; Justin Shivers Callaway.

Survivors include a sister; Susan C. Anderson of Baldwin, GA, a brother; Jimmy (Mona) Callaway of Cuthbert, nine nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Anna Mae Mote 41 Mote Rd. Cuthbert, GA. 39840.
