Joseph T. Hammack, Jr. 76, of Clay County, died Thursday, November 7,  2013. Graveside services will be conducted in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery near Edison at 2:00 PM on Monday November 11, 2013 with the Rev James Walkup officiating.

Joseph was born on February 14, 1937 in bluffton, Ga. the son of the late Leona McKemie and Joseph T. Hammack. He was a graduate of Edison High School in 1955, attended the University of Georgia where he recieved a degree in Agriculture Engineering and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha social fraternity. He farmed in Clay county for 27 years and later was a manager of Edison Gin CO-OP. He was a member of Edison Baptist Church and served in the Georgia Army National Guard.

Survivors include a daughter, Leigh Ann (Jon) Hester of Marietta Ga. ,two sons, Hubert Hammack of Carrollton and Jackson Hammack of Coleman, wife of 25 years Beverly Hammack of Carrollton, two sisters, Sarah (Emmett) Bowers of Albany and Leona (Willis) DuVall of Edison and a brother, Arnold (Angelyn) Hammack of Albany, Two granddaughters, Libby Hester and Mary Hester both of Marietta, Ga.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.
