Joyce Knight Clayton, 90, of Fort Gaines passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, in the Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in the New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines with Rev. Thomas Giddens officiating.

Mrs. Clayton was born on July 8, 1933, in Climax, GA the daughter of the late Samuel Knight and the late Johnnie Snead Knight. She was a retired civil service employee at Fort Rucker, Alabama and a member of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Patrick Houston "PH" Clayton, daughter, Cynthia Clayton Hodnett and son, Michael Steven Clayton.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Anita Clayton McKnight (Vernon) of Dothan, a son, Donald Keith Clayton (Alexandra) of Asheville, NC, daughter-in-law, Rebecca Clayton Russell, 11 grandchildren, Kyla Silver, Claire Makar, Remy Gritta, Nic Gritta, Matt Clayton, Jon Clayton, Zac Hodnett, Elizabeth Hodnett, Leah Haas, Clayton McKnight and Kyle McKnight and 11 great grandchildren, Clayton Silver, Ashley Silver, Addy Clayton, Tanner Clayton, Savannah Hodnett, Seeley Hass, Sam Haas, Hank Haas, Jude Haas, Tristan McKnight and Byron McKnight.
