LEWIS BENNETT

Stanford Lewis Bennett, 82, of Morris, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in the Magnolia Manor in Buena Vista. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 18. 2026, in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery Morris, GA with Rev. Dwight Dunn officiating.

Lewis was born on June 2, 1944, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late Stanford Issiah Bennett and the late Mary Helen Green Bennett. He was a graduate of Georgetown High School, member of the Union United Methodist Church and was retired as owner and operator of Bennett Logging. He was preceded in death his parents, sister, Carolyn Wright and brother, Ronald Bennett.

Survivors his wife, Carmen Herrin Bennett of Morris, daughter, Sonya Bennett Nix of Morris, son, Kevin Bennett of Cuthbert, sister-in-law, Kathryn M. Bennett of Thomasville, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral Home. Memorials made be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 5156 River Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 or Alzheimer's Association .
