Mrs. Lola Mae Speir Byrd, 83, of Dawson died in the early morning hours of February 4, 2014 at the Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February, 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson.

Mrs. Byrd was born on February 16, 1930 to Rufus E. Speir and Ollie Mae (Lunsford) Speir. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Katherine (Speir) Barfield.

Survivors include three children, Al Reese, Norman Reese and Cathy (Reese) Webb, one brother, Jimmy Speir, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.
