LOVETTE BUREN GEESLIN, JR.

Lovette Buren Geeslin, Jr, 96, of Lumpkin, GA died on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Lumpkin First Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery in Lumpkin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until funeral time on Friday at the church.

Mr. Geeslin was born April 25, 1929, in County Line in Lumpkin, GA the son of the late Lovette Buren Geeslin and Dona Barlow Geeslin. An avid sportsman, he loved baseball and his St. Louis Cardinals. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, too. Lovette was a graduate of Lumpkin High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural college. He was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier for the US postal service and was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. He attended Lumpkin First Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, Lovette Buren Geeslin III “Chuck” and Robert Moore Geeslin (Bari); 2 daughters, Elizabeth Geeslin Riles (Eddie) and Rebecca Geeslin Buchan (Windal); 3 grandchildren, Joey Riles (Crosby), Jesse Riles (Makayla), and Brady Buchan (LeAnne), 4 great grandchildren, Tripp, Caroline, Bennett and Lovette “L.C.” Riles. Extended family: Hannah, Amelia, Andrew, Mason, Chris, Blake, Christy and Jeralyn Buchan which knew him affectionally as Double Daddy, Fate Worthington and Amanda Young.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Fant, Fate Worthington, Chris Buchan, Blake Buchan, Grier Holloway and Matt Holloway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Vernon Halliday, a sister, Carolyn Greene and a daughter-in-law, Betty Geeslin.
