Mary "Mae" Evelyn Kight, the sweetest person ever and love of our lives was called home on Tuesday. Mae Kight, 73, of Sylvester, passed away July 11, 2017 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 14, 2017 in Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Olin Johnson officiating.

She graduated from Cuthbert High School and managed Loan Companies in Cuthbert and Dawson before retiring in 1995. She was the youngest child of Sam Peavy, Sr. and Merle Carter Peavy. She preceded death by her parents and brother; Marvin Peavy, Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years; Bill E. Kight, Jr. of Sylvester, a son; John F. Scarborough of Cuthbert, a stepson; Michael Kight, Sr. of Ashville, NC, 3 sisters; Carol Carey, Wynelle Wood and Dorothy Vinson all of Cuthbert, a brother; Sam Peavy, Jr. of Cuthbert, 6 grandchildren; Jakob Jones, Lance Scarborough and Logan Scarborough all of Lee County, Michael Kight, Jr., Madolynne Kight and Alex Clary all of Asheville, NC, nieces; Patty Bueker, Kathy Smallridge and Susanne Busbee, nephews; Marvin Peavy, Jr. Michael Peavy, Luke Peavy, Robert Moore, Jr., Sam Peavy, III and Keith Peavy.
