Malcolm "Mac" Brewer Pate, 85, of Cuthbert passed away at his residence on May 14, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM in New Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dwayne Greene and Rev. Milton Pate are to officiate.

Mr. Pate was born March 24, 1929 in Clay County, Ga. the son of the late James Travis Pate and Amy Estelle Craft. He graduated from Clay Co. High School, was a retired farmer and Rural Letter Carrier. He was a Baptist and a Mason, member of the Washington Lodge #19.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Paralee Engram Pate of Cuthbert, two daughters, Rachel Britt of Athens, Al. and Brenda Green (James) of Eatonton, Ga., two sons, Edwin Pate (Gina) of Cuthbert and Dennis Pate (Jackie) of Hillsboro, Ga., a brother, Marcus Pate of Norcross, Ga., nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Justin Pate, Branon Pate, Michael Johnson, Caleb Baker, Jason Green and Jeff Green.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Children's Home at 811 Mulberry St. Macon, Ga. 31201.
