Marguerite Marie Anne Sellaro Pouncey, 85, of Daleville, AL passed away peacefully in the palliative care unit of the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 after a lengthy illness.

Marguerite was born on July 13, 1939, in Manhattan, NY the daughter of the late Angelo Vincent Sellaro and the late Lillian Vincenza Sorrentino Sellaro. She was the granddaughter of Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro, the founder of the Order Sons of Italy in America. She was a 1958 graduate of Bayshore Long Island High School, a 4-year veteran of the US Air Force, and a retired seamstress. She was a Homemaker until her death and a member of the Catholic Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth Pouncey, son, Charles Patrick "Pat" Sanders and a sister, Cecilia Lillian Sellaro.

Above all Marguerite loved her family and was known for her kindness, good heart, and love of Christ.  She was blessed with many talents, a beautiful singing voice, a love of dancing, talented piano skills, and a love of crocheting.  She loved to make afghans for family and friends. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a cast member with her name on the marquee for the off-Broadway play "Dry Bones in the Valley" as a child in New York City.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Virgie (Bill) Boring of Newark, OH, Charlena (Jack) Mauldin of Cuthbert, Arlinda (Mike) Bradshaw of Edison, 10 grandchildren, Jonathan (Natalie) Sanders, Guerry (Malanie) Burnett, Melissa (Zach) Caldwell, Timothy (Stephanie) Burnett, Matthew Burnett, Landrum (Rachel) Burnett, Adrianna (Bryce) Swanson, Macey Boring, Aidan Scarborough and Anna (Colt) Copeland and a host of Great Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at Andersonville National Cemetery, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
