Obituary

Marlin Samuel Brown, 90 of Cuthbert died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Wilson Hospice House in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 26th at 2:00 PM in the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Shellman with Rev. Jim Eubanks officiating.

Mr. Brown was born in Shellman, on January 31, 1922 the son of the late John Samuel Brown and Cora Hooks Brown. He was  a retired farmer, rural mail carrier and owner of Brown Sales and Service in the metal building business. He served in the 38th Air Engineering Squadron of the 13th Air Force Division during World War II, was a member of the Geeslin-Sharley Post #85 of The American Legion and was a member and deacon of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Adams Brown.

Survivors include 2 Sons, Charles Marlin "Lin" Brown (Paula) of Emerald Hills, CA, and Byron Brown (Marti) of Cuthbert, a daughter, Martha Griggs (Ottis) of Cuthbert, a sister, Lorene B. Moore of Pompano Beach, FL, 4 Grandchildren, Mallory Brown, Bret Brown, Keila Smith (Mason),and Cody Page (Heather), 3 Great-Grandchildren, Orrin Smith, Bailee Rae Smith and Peyton Page, a very special assistant, Jeffrey Thompson, and health care helper Evonne Devane.

The Family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.
