Martha Janette Ramy was a strong, adventurous and selfless woman. We said goodbye to her on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. But we will always remember her sweet spirit, her fried okra, sausage balls and rum cake along with her hugs and kisses and her never ending desire to love big.

Born in Fort Gaines Georgia, on December 17, 1933, the daughter of Mary and Charlie Speir, she made her home on Lively Trail in Atlanta. In that home, for over 50 years she welcomed countless friends and family and showered them with love, good food and lots of laughter.

She is survived by her children, Mary and Mike, her daughter-in-law Dianne, her grand daughters' Amity (husband Jason) and Lynda (husband Todd), her great grand children Luke, Sadie, Katie, Peyton, Reagan and Dale, her sister Beth Giles, her closest friend Lynn McMinn, and her beloved 4-legged furry sidekick 'Little Girl'.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday 2/24/17 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd, Atlanta GA 30033 at 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Sunday 2/26/17 at the New Park Cemetery in Ft Gaines Georgia at 2:00 pm with Rev. Beverly King officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Peace River Wildlife Center, 3400 Ponce de Leon Parkway, Punta Gorda Florida 33950.
