Obituary

Mary Ellene Barrett Beasley, 94, of Cuthbert died Monday Oct. 21,2013 at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM  Wednesday Oct. 23, 2013 at Cuthbert East View Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Hines officiating.

Mrs. Beasley was born Mar. 16, 1919 the daughter of the late Ed C. and Esther Taylor White. She was a native of Randolph county having previously lived in Albany, Ga. an Eufaula AL. She was a retired doctors assistant for Dr. Gus Elliott, Dr. Robert Martin and Dr. Clayton Wood. She  was also an Avon representative for many years, known for her excellent sales ability. Her favorite pastimes were reading, watching Braves games and wetting a hook on the creek bank. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Cuthbert and enjoyed the ministry at the nursing home. She loved people, never met a stranger and was known for her witty personality, positive attitude and beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include her children Gloria (Bert) Melton, Sharon (Jim) Brazeal of Cuthbert; Bill (Teresa) Barrett of Eufaula, AL and Marty (Cheryl) Barrett of Ormond Beach, FL; 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands George Oliver Barrett and Clyde Beasley and siblings Henry Lee White, Evelyn W. Turner, Frances White and J.M. White.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday Oct. 22, 2013 at Lunsford Funeral Home.
