Melinda Ann Benton, 62, of Ft. Gaines died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 3rd at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church near Ft. Gaines. Rev Phil Thomas will officiate with interment to follow in New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines.

Mrs.Benton was born November 21, 1950 in Odessa, Texas daughter of the late Thomas Albert and Peggy Sue McSpadden Richards. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and was a CNA at Crown Healthcare in Eufaula.

Survivors include a son; James Thomas and wife Katie Benton of Auburn, MA, a daughter; Crystal and husband Charles Crozier of Ft. Gaines, three brothers; Thomas L. and wife Debbie Richards of Jamestown, RI, Ronald D. and wife Rene Richards of Georgetown and Joe M. and wife Kathy Richards of Lanett, AL and four grandchildren.

The family will recieve friends Sunday March 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.
