Mary Nick Golden McCook, 90, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in the Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Memorial services will be conducted by the family at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. David Crowdis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Nick was born on September 13, 1932, in Dawson, GA the daughter of the late Abraham and Mary Jane Shipp Golden. She was a graduate of Terrell County High School where she was a member of the 1948 3rd District Basketball Champions. She was a retired office manager for Mercer Tire Co. and the Cuthbert Times and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daniel Alpha "Rooster" McCook, Jr. She was known by her grandchildren as "Nunnie".

Survivors include a daughter, Terrie M. DePerro of Cuthbert, a son, Daniel "Danny" (Tara) McCook, III of Harrisville, MS, 7 grandchildren, Daniel McCook, IV, Rick Hunter, Ashley (Devin) Varnum, Susan (CJ) Greene, Nickey (Phillip) McCook, Dana (Robert) Stewart and Danny Harrell.
