Robert Gerald Sheffield, 80, of Ft. Gaines died on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Lunsford Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating.

Mr. Sheffield was born on October 17, 1940 in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Vestus Gerald and Jeanette Mosley Sheffield. He was a retired United States Army Veteran after serving 22 years. He was a member of the Free Mason, Shriners and the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mary Sue Griffin Sheffield of Ft. Gaines, a daughter, Gayle Cohen of Ocilla, GA, a son, Robert (Pam) Sheffield of Locust Grove, GA,; a sister Sandra (Tony) Tanner, a brother Barry (Alice) Sheffield, 2 granddaughters, Jamie Strickland and McKensi Sheffield, 2 grandsons, Dustin Brown and Kyle Sheffield; 2 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Becky Partain.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
