L. Russell Rowland, 90, of Cuthbert passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in the Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Damascus Baptist Church with interment to follow in East View Cemetery with Rev. David McFather officiating.

Mr. Rowland was born on May 14, 1924 in Atlanta the son of the late Benjamin and Lois Rowland. He was a retired printer, a member of the Geeslin-Sharley American Legion Post 85, a World War II Navy Veteran,a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Damascus Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Donald Rowland of Cuthbert, a daughter, Linda Rowland of Waelder, TX., a brother, Morris Rowland, of Riverdale, GA. and a grandson, Benjamin Rowland.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home.
