Major Sean Gregory Musgrove was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 19, 1961, the son of the late Patricia Ann Thompson Musgrove Hatcher and the late Kenneth Walthall Musgrove. He was commissioned through ROTC at Georgia Southwestern College on June 10, 1983, as a second Lieutenant of the Field Artillery. His academic degree is a Bachelor of Science in Education from Georgia Southwestern College.

Major Musgrove's military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses and Combined Arms Service Staff School.

His assignments include duties as Battery Executive Officer in the 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery in the Artillery Training Center at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Platoon Leader, Battery Executive Officer, and Battalion Assistant Operations Officer in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery, 214th Field Artillery Brigade, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, III Corps Artillery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Targeting Officer, Planning and Operations Officer, and Adjutant in the 8th Battalion, 8th Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Stanley, Korea; and Squadron Fire Support Officer for 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Division, at Fort Hood, Texas.

Major Musgrove's decorations and awards include the Army Commendation Medal (with one Oak Leaf Cluster). The Army Achievement Medal, the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Ranger Tab, National Defense Service Medal, and Overseas Ribbon.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Nicole (Matthew Bell) Musgrove of Windsor, CO, 4 sons, Tanner Lane Musgrove of Leesburg, Mason Gregory Musgrove of Leesburg, Parker Reid Musgrove of Leesburg and Logan Frost of Warwick, 2 sisters, Mai (Steve) Bell of Albany, and Mytra (David) McLeod of Mitchell County, a brother, Shane (Missy) Hatcher of Cuthbert and 2 grandchildren, Maverick Jace Musgrove and Zeppelin Page Bell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tanner Musgrove, Mason Musgrove, Parker Musgrove, Logan Frost, Shane Hatcher and Rodney Muliford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Vilulah Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Watson and Rev. David Murphy officiating with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until funeral time at Church.
