Milledgeville, Ga.

Susan "Sue" Bell Simpson, 94, of Milledgeville, GA. went to be with the Lord on Jan. 18, 2021. Graveside services will be conducted at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Shellman, Ga. On Jan. 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Paul Fryman officiating.

Mrs.  Simpson was born Dec. 12, 1926 in Worth County GA and grew up in Terrell County, GA. She attended Mercer University where she graduated with an BA degree in 1945. While at Mercer she was president of Chi Omega Fraternity. She did graduate work at Mercer and Oglethorpe Universities and taught elementary school in Dekalb County.

She was a member of First Baptist Milledgeville since 1972 where she was the teacher of the College and Sunshine Sunday School classes. She was a faithful member of Baptist Women and coordinator for the intercessory Prayer Ministry.

Survivors are her daughters; Sally (Richard) Balkcum of Augusta, Amy (Howard) Betsa of Placida, FL, Ellen (Paul) Fryman of Bowling Green, KY, and Lucy (Doug) Harkness of Lawrenceville, GA.; 11 Grandchildren, Will (Amy) Caudill, Susan (Roy) High, Patrick Tiller, Emily (Nate) Harlan, Phillip Fryman, Sara Harkness, Lauren Harkness, Alaina Harkness, Ally Harkness and Angie Hollingsworth.; Great Grandchildren Zane and Drew Caudill, Madison Kershaw, Ella Harlan, Aubree Tiller, and Brandi (Steven) Fanczi, and one great-great grandson, Colton Fanczi.

She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Simpson, her parents Alline Moats and John Wilis Bell, sisters Nancy Cromer, Sally Moats Bell and a brother John W. Bell, Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be given to the "Bill Simpson Memorial Mission Fund" at First Baptist P.O. Box 795, Milledgeville, Ga. 31059-0795. This fund finances mission work around the world through the Georgia Baptist Convention.

Masks are encouraged and social distancing will be required.
