SUSIE HAYES

Dorothy Suzanne “Susie” Peak Hayes, 80, of Smithville, GA passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Shellman Eastview Cemetery.

Susie was born on August 30, 1945, in the daughter of the late Dolth Kenton Peak, Sr. and the late Dorothy Evelyn Peak. She was retired as a mechanical maintenance technician from Albany Procter and Gamble She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Baston “Bill” Hayes and brother, Walter Roy (Gail) Peak.

Susie had a great love for all animals, riding her buggy around her farm, working puzzles and canning jams, jellies etc. She was a devoted Christian and spent hours reading and studying her bible. She had a great heart and would do anything for her friends or anyone in need.

Survivors include a stepson, William Zachary “Zack” Hayes, 4 sons, Anthony “Tony” Brown, John Brown, Troy Brown and Robert (Bo) Mayberry, sister, Cynthia Gail (Gary) Noel, 3 brothers, Todd Douglas (Kim) Peak, Sr., Dolth Kenton (Debra) Peak, Jr. and Charles Paul Peak, grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and closest friends, Tom (Leslie) Middlebooks and Deb (Floyd) Allen.
