Thomas Richard Mathews, Jr. 80, of Cuthbert died Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Willson Hospice House in Albany. Graveside services will be conducted Friday April 19,2013 at 11:00 AM from East View Cemetery in Cuthbert with the Rev. Peter Vermeulen officiating..

Mr. Mathews was born April 29, 1932 in Cuthbert the son of the late Thomas Richard Mathews, Sr. and Martha Sealy Mathews. He attended Cuthbert High School and was  farmer and business owner of the Propane Gas Co. and was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include his wife Gay Sheffield Mathews of Cuthbert, 1 son; Richard (Rich) Mathews (Jennifier) of Cuthbert 1 Daughter Lesley Mathews Lovett (Bob) of Cuthbert, 4 Grandchildren Graham Lovett, Shay Lovett, Macy Mathews, and Sophie Mathews.

Preceded in death by 2 sisters Martha Mathews Ellenwood and Sue Mathews Hays and 1 brother Johnny Mathews.
