THOMAS McCOOK

Thomas Earl McCook, 80, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, in the Emory University Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lee Wright officiating.

Thomas was born on June 29, 1946, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late Earl Clifton McCook and the late Mary Meredith Nicholson McCook. He was a graduate of Cuthbert High School, retired from DeVane Farms and Evergreen Logging and was a member of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rebecca Griffin McCook, son, Tony McCook, stepdaughter, Terri Nichols and great grandson Rael.

Survivors include a son, Tommy McCook of Shellman, stepdaughter, Merri Boyd of Waycross, daughter-in-law, Tricia McCook of Eufaula, sister, Mary Brooks of Edison, 6 grandchildren, Jamie, Alana, Luke, Shayla, Nathan, and Kelci, and 6 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P. O. Box 1000 Department 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
